Helping in the Kitchen

This morning Mama, Grandpa D, Grandma C, and I were hanging out in the kitchen (Grandma C was getting lasagna ready for dinner) and I was helping Mama out like I always do. Well, since Grandma was working on that stuff Mama went and got the camera to take pictures of me. I am such a big help to Mama cleaning stuff out of cabinets; I'm thinking of making it my profession.

As you can see, I first make sure all cabinet doors are open. I then start pulling stuff out and leaving it on the floor for Mama to trip over as she walks by. I learned that trick from the cats!!

Next I pose for the camera. I was trying to climb into the cabinet when Mama went to get the camera, but I didn't want any pictures to come back and haunt me so I just posed for Mama when she came back.

After pulling as much out of the cabinet as Mama would let me (she won't let me pull out that neat gizmo in the back that they call an ice tea maker... don't worry, you really cant see it in the pictures) I then thought it would be a good idea to help by putting my dishes in the cabinet. I went to my toy box and found my neat little tupperware dishes Grandma C just bought me and proceeded to bring them into the kitchen. Aren't I just darling?

The Box Monster

Hmm... I wonder whats in this box...

Ba-bump... ba-bump... (okay, so really this is supposed to sound like the Jaws theme)...

AAHHHH!!!! It's the Box Monster!!!!

Not really!! It's just me, Jelly Bean!

Mosquitos and Bees

So the other day we (Mama, Daddy, Grandpa D, Grandma C, and I) were outside and I was playing on my climber while Mama, Daddy, and Grandpa D were putting together a storage shed. I really love to play on it... open the door, close the door, open the door... convince someone to put me on the slide... Well, then the nasty mosquitoes decided it was time to come out. Sadly, one of them decided to bite me right under my eye (any closer, and she'd probably have got my eye!?!). No big deal, right... I'd just have a bite that would itch and itch and itch... except this time I got a great big giant welt! It made my eye swell up! Just take a look...

Mama took this on the good day when it wasn't so swollen. The next day it was swollen so much I could hardly peek out. So, Daddy called the doctor and was told to give me benadryl and keep an eye on the eye (haha!). I had a few doses of benadryl and my eye got better. I hope I never get a black eye cause that was no fun looking out of one little google (as Grandma R calls eyes).

Well, because of my reaction to the mosquitoes this time, Grandpa D said I should watch out for bees. I was watching for them, but I'm not even sure what a "B" looks like! But, Mama was holding me outside one morning and this cute little black and yellow bug landed on my hand. Granted... I thought it was cute till I closed my hand around it and it stung me on the palm! OUCH!! So, I now know what a bee looks like. Grandpa D got the stinger out and Mama put some baking soda on it and held me till I felt better. Luckily, I didn't seem to have a reaction to the bee sting and from now on I think I'll just stay away from them!

Crusin' Along

So Mama has had this neato toy in my room for a few months but I couldn't really figure out what to do with it. When I was still learning to walk I would sometimes push it around till I got it stuck and couldn't move it anymore. Well, now that I'm getting to be a pro at walking I discovered I could sit on it! And what's even better now I can balance! When Mama first pulled it out of the basement and tried to sit me on it I just fell off. But not anymore! (at least not that I'm going to admit and Mama better not tell anyone or I'll have a tantrum)

You know what's really neat about this crayon? Granted, I don't really know what a crayon is, but I've been told Mama's grandpa gave it to her when she was little! So Mama had this toy, too, and when I came along Grandpa Dave brought it to Mama and Daddy and said it was my turn to have it. This is so cool!

Continuing the Trend

This weekend has just not been good to me. On Saturday I was playing outside with my grand climber. I really like the door and opening and closing it. Someday I'll be good like cousin M and can climb the ladder to get down the slide! But, a nasty mosquito landed on my cheek and Mama thought it was just some dirt since I'd been playing in the dirt. I got a pretty big mosquito bite. Luckily, Daddy put some anti-itch cream on it and now its looking better.

Aunt A, Uncle B, and cousins B and M came over for a marshmallow roast on Sunday, which was great! I had oeey-gooey marshmallow and chocolate and graham crackers! Everyone called them s'mores, but I didn't know what we were having s'more of! But, anyway, when they got here I went to give cousin M a nice big hug... unfortunately he lost his balance and fell over, which made me fall over and I bumped my head. I got a pretty big goose-egg from that one! I was crying and crying, but cousin M cried even more than I did. Everyone thinks it was sympathy for me. Then later on I fell into Mama and Daddy's filing cabinet, which gave me another goose-egg. I'm tellin' ya, this walking business takes some skill!

Also, while hanging out outside for the marshmallow roast the mosquitoes got me! We're not quite sure if it happened before or after Daddy put the bug spray on me, but I got several bites on my face. Those things just itch and itch and itch!!

Then today I squished my fingers in the closet door (I guess I should have listened to Daddy... he's pretty smart!). Mama got me a ice-pack type thing, but I wanted to chew on it instead. Later on, I decide to try and get on the porch like I've been doing. I've gotten pretty good at getting down the step, but today I was trying with my sippy cup and lost my balance, so I ended up falling down the step somehow. I'm so glad Mama was there to cuddle me. I really needed that! I sure hope I get better at this whole balance thing pretty soon, I don't know if my head can take much more!
