We recently took a trip to see a butterfly garden with a group of families from our church. When we got there, I so very politely asked the ticket lady if there were any monarch butterflies. Unfortunately, those ones were all gone. I did, however, get to see monarch caterpillars and one that was starting to form a chrysalis!
We took a break from walking around the butterfly garden and my friend E and I got silly when Daddy pulled out the camera...
After we walked around and saw all the butterflies, we headed out to the children's garden. That's where we found the most adorable-ist Jelly Bean Butterfly!
And later on we spotted a Jelly Bean Butterfly with attitude!
We "discovered" a trail and followed it to a "farm" where we could explore and we got "locked" in a chicken pen (at least that is what the grown-ups called it)...
Then we found a sculpture that Ms. T was wanting to find. Here are the kids waiting for the grown-ups to decide what we were doing....
Two best butterfly buds leaving the butterfly garden...

Fairies, Flowers, and Butterflies
The theme I picked for my birthday this year was fairies, flowers, and butterflies. I had a blast helping Mama and Daddy pick out party favors, decorations, and activities!
While we waited for my guests to show up, we decorated flowers and butterflies...
Then we had cake and ice cream...
After everyone was finished we played pin the wings on the fairy. Daddy drew a really awesome boy fairy, but you can't see him because of all the wings!
I opened presents...
and my friends had fun being silly!
Then we went outside and had a fairy obstacle course, or as Daddy called it, Fairy Boot Camp!
We were supposed to be in "training" to play flower, flower, fairy (duck, duck, goose), but my friends and I had so much fun doing the obstacle course we never got to the last game.
At the end of the day, I told Mama and Daddy that this was the best birthday party EVER!

Mama/Daughter Date
Mama and I went with my friend E and her mom, Ms. T, to see a show. Can you guess what it was?
Here are E and I before it started...
How about if I show you this picture.
Any ideas yet?
We went to see this!

(The Little Mermaid)
(Lilo and Stitch)
(Tinkerbell, from Peter Pan)
We went to see Disney on Ice, and it was soooooo cool! I especially loved Ariel, and I also got pretty excited to see Tinkerbell.

Seeing the Circus
Mama and Daddy took my friend E and I to the circus. I was so excited to go! (Mama says, when am I *not* excited to do things!)
We got to ride on an elephant before the show...
Run through a bouncy obstacle course... (and I'm super silly!)
And had popcorn and cotton candy! This is my friend E and I...
My favorite part was the silly clown who was playing music. The ringleader "broke" his radio, and he put it in a garbage can, but it kept playing! So the clown had to sit on the garbage can to turn it off! It was soooo silly!
I also enjoyed watching the acrobats that were hanging from ropes and doing tricks! And the guy riding a bicycle and doing tricks was really good. I want to be able to ride a bike like that some day!

Pierced Ears
I did it! I finally did it! I decided to get my ears pierced!
We were at the store when Mama asked if I was ready. I had been wanting to wear my pearl earrings for a while now, but I wasn't too sure on getting my ears pierced. I knew it would hurt because Mama and Daddy told me it would.
But I finally felt ready.
I wasn't too sure, because I knew it would hurt. But Mama asked the ladies if they could do both ears at once. And Mama and Daddy held my hands and told me I could squeeze as hard as I wanted to. When the ladies pierced my ears, it hurt A LOT! I started crying really loud and had huge crocodile tears (so Mama tells me). Daddy held me and Mama rubbed my back and told me I did a good job.
By the time we made it to the car, I had decided my ears didn't hurt much anymore. And by the time we were home I was smiles again.
This is what they look like...
Now I can't wait till I can wear my pearl earrings!

Student of the Month
I had a most exciting thing happen to me! I was chosen to be student of the month! I didn't have any idea it was going to happen until my name was called!
My teacher had even called Mama and Daddy to let them know so that they could be at the ceremony, too!
My teacher said this about why I was chosen for student of the month:
"Jelly Bean" is a great learner who shows the school’s principles by focusing on her tasks and helping her friends. She is friendly to everyone and includes them in her playtime. She has positive leadership qualities by being helpful, friendly, and outgoing. If you ever need a helper, "Jelly Bean" is your girl!

Christmas 2011
Showing off my new Christmas dress from cousins D, D, A, and A! (please ignore my funny eye, I had just gotten pink eye and my eye had gotten all puffy and swollen)
This year we got to travel to Aunt Pookie and Aunt T's house! I got to help decorate the tree...
I delivered "treats" (pieces of dog food) to the dogs just like a good elf...
And on Christmas morning the comment I made was "WOW! I must have been *really* good this year!" (Mama would like me to point out that there was some furniture under those presents, not to mention presents for myself, 6 adults, and 5 dogs, and 3 cats)
Making fairy dust from my awesome science kit!
While Christmas was great, the downside is I ended up very sick the day after. I spent a few days with a high fever just laying on Aunt Pookie and Aunt T's chair. The good news, though, is that I bounced back much quicker than everyone else that ended up sick!

Carving Pumpkins & Halloween
Before our zoo started their trick-or-treating, they had a night where people could come and carve pumpkins that are used to decorate. Daddy and I had a daddy/daughter date, and went to help out! I picked out a tall skinny pumpkin, and I wanted a heart cut in it.
For Halloween this year, I wanted to be the most awesome Disney Princess ever... Ariel! And Mama made me a fin! This picture was version 1, in which I wore a horrible wig that didn't want to stay on my head! This was the best picture we got with me in the wig...
Hanging with my friends after we went trick or treating at the zoo. As you might notice, I've given up on my wig by this point. Me and my friend, L.
My friends S and E and I...
This is my costume, version 2! Mama got some red spray on hair stuff and a red sparkly headband. I liked this one much better!
Heading out to trick or treat...
This year I decided to be very *very* brave and try out the haunted tunnel near Grandma and Grandpa's house. As you can probably guess, I wasn't too sure about it, but I went on anyway...
Daddy ended up carrying me through most of it, and Mama and Daddy kept carrying on and laughing through the whole thing. I held tight to Daddy. Mama even kept laughing because she said she kept ruining the surprises by looking back behind us. When we got out, that was when I lost it and started crying. =( But Mama and Daddy said I was very brave and they were REALLY proud of me for going through the tunnel even though I was afraid.
We then met up with my cousins M and B and went trick or treating together the rest of the night...
I, however, am sure that I am *never* going through the haunted tunnel AGAIN!

Kids Fest at a Cider Mill
Last fall Mama, Daddy, and I took two of my cousins, M and B, to a kids fest at the same place we took our day trip to. It was *SO* much fun! I got to ride a train (I was by myself since I had had to go potty. M and B had already had a turn on the train)...
There were lots of bouncy houses. I especially loved the slide on this on! Here are M and I going down together...
We took a ride on a tram to visit the pumpkin patch...
We got to see how apple cider is made! That's me with Daddy and M and B.
There was also a folk singer who let kids come up on stage and help her out! I loved being up there and playing the different instruments she had for us.
And on the way home we got to play with the camera!
We also got to play in the kids corral (an area with things to climb on and a HUGE sand box), had donuts and fresh apple cider, and got balloon yo-yo's! All in all, it was a *great* day!
